UNDERSTANDING CLEARING CENTRE OPERATIONS

BACKGROUND:
Electronic clearing has minimized the different risk of commercial banks and their customers at the same time reduced processing cost of payment. Increasing volume of non- cash payment instrument are being processed through a network of clearing house and participating bank’s net position generated.
To operate an efficient clearing system, participating banks should have a good understanding of the operational procedures and administration.
OBJECTIVES:
- To expose participants to the dynamics of the automated clearing system
- To expose participants to global best practice in operational and administrative procedure in PBCC
- To assist participant in detecting and reacting appropriately to errors.
TARGET AUDIENCE:
Staff of operations department who are involved in clearing activities, information technology support and those being prepared for such functions.
METHODOLOGY:
Formal lectures, case studies, participative group exercises, simulation and experience sharing.
DURATION: 3 DAYS
ADMINISTRATION:
The programme commences at 8.30 a.m. and ends at 5.00p.m. daily.
